The Meaning of Home
My home, a door, a key,
Something so dear to me.
Where I feel safe and sound,
This is where I am found.
Joy, laughter, fills the halls,
Great stories seen by walls.
Brother, sister have fun,
Together jump and run.
Dressing up we pretend,
Building forts we defend.
A backyard filled with play,
Offers such a great day.
Trampolines, swings and slides,
Oh so many fun rides.
Sunshine, rainstorms or snow,
Still lots of fun I know.
Back inside I read books,
Stories, joy in my nooks.
Cuddle my furry friend,
Soft purrs that never end.
Family movies or game,
Yes, I win I exclaim!
In the chair, songs we sing,
Grandmas voice, sweet sounds bring.
Poppa counts, hide and seek,
Perfect spots, do not peek.
Each room, mom by my side,
Life’s lessons taught, my guide.
My home a special place,
Tender care, warm embrace.
Helpful hands, tasty treats,
Yummy smells, really greets.
Days end, a great big hug,
In bed, snug as a bug.
Happy, I rest my head,
Dreams, adventures ahead.
More than a door and key,
My home so dear to me.
