Home, a safe place
Whenever I’m waking up my cat Stormy comes up to me and starts nuzzling and purring. Stormy purrs so loud I must wake up. And then my other cat Oreo comes to and does the exact same thing. But she does it so quiet. Its adorable! Every time my mom is cooking Stormy goes up to her and starts meowing for attention and to be picked up. Every day after school I go downstairs and start shooting my hockey puck. There’s something so satisfying about the puck hitting the back of the net and then falling to the ground. When I’m falling asleep, I listen to a podcast called Winnipeg Sports Talk. I love listening to sports. Something that makes me feel so at home is the sound of skates on ice and hockey pucks hitting sticks. Something else that makes me feel at home is going to Rubik’s cube competition. As soon as I went to my first Rubik’s cube competition I just felt so at home and welcome. Even during my solves I felt no pressure. Every Friday night me, my brother and my mom cuddle up together and watch a movie and eat pizza. The ones who are doing the most cuddling are Stormy and Oreo. On every Canada day I see my dad lighting fireworks and then I watch them blossom into the sky. Thank you, Habitat for Humanity for giving homes to people to people that don’t have one so that they can make everlasting memories. I’m not doing this to win, I’m doing this to help.
