What home means to me

For me home means acceptance and care. I believe that home is wherever you feel safe and whoever you feel safe with. Me for example. I feel safe with my family! My two moms (their lesbian), My aunts, aunt jess, aunt Amy, aunt Tracy, my grandma, my girl cousins, Hayden, Zoey, My boy cousins, Conor, Mason, my dogs, Hudson, Leia, my uncle, Uncle devin and Uncle…i forgot his name! (i haven’t seen him for like 5 years) Another example is my friends! Alex, Veronica, Shyanne, Alex, Clementine, Alissa and my newest friend Ava! Sometimes around some of these people I don't always feel safe, mainly Alissa, as much as she is my bestie and I love her. She can be quite aggressive, sometimes she hits me and makes me insecure but she’s my bestie and I will never leave her! Another example is loved ones I've lost. Recently on October 27-28th my Papa died while he was driving. We presumed he had a heart attack but were not sure. It was very hard for me and I'm still not over it but he always holds a special place in my heart. On October 17-18th i lost someone who wasn’t a person, but my cat, my cat was alive for 16 years, even older than me but sadly she was getting old and we had to put her down, i will always miss her but she was getting near the end of her life. On August 12th 2023 my Grandpa died from falling off a sidewalk and hitting his head, i was very close to him (same as my Papa) so i was very sad, at first my mom just told me he was sick and we were gonna go visit him and i was happy because i hadn’t seen him in a while, when the car pulled up in peterborough’s hospital i rolled down my window with a smile and waved at my grandma and my aunt tracy, my grandma gave me a hug and said “i know i miss him too”, and i sat their confused then i realized what had happened and said “what-”...so that was the day my Grandpa had died. I would talk about my Nana but that one is very emotional so i won’t talk about her. But that was my “what home means to me” essay! Bye bye!
