A Place To Call Home
A house is just a place until you come along
With four walls, a roof and sparrows singing their song
The house is quiet not even a sound
Waiting for someone to walk on its ground
The thought of a big backyard with trees and fence
Everyone is feeling tense
Full boxes packed tight in a huge truck
And people wishing us lots of good luck
The ride feels like forever
I thought ‘we’ll never get there, NEVER!’
The anticipation grows, then it shows,
the car slows and everyone knows
That this is what we’ve been waiting for!
Nervous steps up to the door
Then I say ‘What are you waiting for?’
A place of our own, a place to forever own,
but most importantly,
A Place To Call Home
