Home is Special
Home is filled with laughter and cheer.
It’s where we hold our dear ones near.
It’s where we see our family and friends gathered together in the living room watching a movie on Christmas Eve.
Home’s where we sleep safe and sound.
It’s where we laugh and smile around the table.
It’s where my mom makes fresh banana chocolate chip muffins in the morning.
The delicious smell makes me and my sister drool.
Home is where my dad and I play basketball in the front yard.
It’s where we wash the cars.
Home’s where I swim and run with my dog, Nova.
It’s where we fight and apologize to each other.
It’s where we can be mad, happy or sad.
Home’s more than four walls and a roof.
It’s a safe and sacred place for you and your family and friends to gather.
Home brings us together not because we live in it.
It’s the feelings in it that bring us together as a family.
The feelings you get from home are the feelings of our loved ones.
Home keeps us safe from the rain and snow, through the seasons.
It keeps us safe, dry and warm.
The good memories from home will always stay with you for your whole life...maybe even some of the bad ones.
Most of my favourite memories are made in my grassy, muddy field.
We fish in our pond in the summer.
It’s where I watch Family Feud with my family at 7:00pm to 8:00pm.
It’s probably where I spend the most time with my family.
Thank you Habitat for Humanity for this chance.
