In my Home
In my Home
By: Soren Holdstock
Home is what I love the most, where memories grow and lights stay aglow, home is where my family lives, my mom, my dog and me all together.
Our home will always keep us warm, by the fireplace my dog will lay as if the heat will never go away. In my home the excitement will never fade away, as my mom is cheering and shouting hooray. My favorite football team has scored again! She says, the lights are gleaming off the shiny floor as the football team scores once more.
Home is where the flowers grow, sitting in the pots by the counter top. Home can be so many things, a place where you live, a place where you grow, a place where the water always flows. Home is where my memories are stowed, the picture frames on the walls resemble them all, the smiling faces, the beautiful vases, and the fire that blazes.
My home is imbued with lots of love like the birds tweeting up above. In my home the laughter will always stay, as my family tells jokes that don't go away.
In my home the dogs will bark, from window to window at the larks. In my home the kids will play, room from room they shout hooray! In my home we love each other as our affection spreads like no other.
In my home I write this poem, as my dog makes a mess and plays with my mothers comb. In my home we live and love as my dog once again carries my winter gloves.
I would like to thank habitat for humanity
For helping kids and families across canada with
Finding affordable housing and making it easier for
Children to have a happy childhood in a warm
House for them to stay in with their family.
This really inspires me and probably
Does the same for many other
Children across canada,
and I think that you
Should really keep
Doing this
yearly.
