Home Is Where I…
Home is not a place, it’s a feeling. At home, I feel safe and loved. I am surrounded by delicious smells all around the house. Home is where people I love are all around me. Everyone deserves a home.
Home is where I can feel safe and loved. I feel safe when my mom tucks me in for bed. Sometimes I play video games with my dad on the TV, that makes me feel safe. My mom likes me to help bake muffins and cookies with her and we put them in my lunchbox. I feel loved when I play games outside with my dad and brother. My Nana and I go shopping and sometimes she buys me a treat. That’s what makes me feel safe and loved.
Home is where I smell freshly baked goods like cookies, cakes, muffins and more. At home, I smell my moms scented candles her friend made for us. One of my favourite smells is my grandma’s turkey dinner, my nana’s cherry cheesecake and my dad’s smashburgers. I also smell my wet dog who jumped in the freezing lake! Ew!
Home is filled with family, pets and friends that I love. I love my mom because she’s been by my side since I was born. My dad is really fun, he plays games with me and takes care of me. That’s why I love him. My brother is funny and silly. We play games outside together and we play video games inside. I love my pets, Meow Meow and Willow. Meow Meow is a very gentle cat that loves to eat. Willow, my Golden Retriever is my dog who loves to play and swim. I love all my grandparents because they have always made me happy and feel loved.
I think everyone should have a home so they can feel safe and loved, smell fresh baking and bond with the people in it. Habitat For Humanity provides a home for someone who doesn’t have one. I think this agency is really important because a family needs a home. Habitat For Humanity allows kids to write stories, poems, essays and more. Home is a place everyone should have.
