Meaning of Home
Just imagine its one of the coldest nights and you get kicked out of your home, you have no where to stay. Your only option is the streets. Well that’s what 35,000 Canadians are going through. Hi my name is Grace and today I will be telling you what home means to me and how fortunate you are to have a home. It doesn’t matter whether your house is big or small what matters is that you have a place to call home.
Firstly, My home would not be a home without my family because home is wherever your together. There are 7 people in my family, my mom, my dad, my dog and my three sisters. If I did not have my family in my home, it would be more like a house not a home because, like I said earlier home is wherever your together.
Secondly, when I’m sad or upset I like to walk around my home and remember all of the memories my family and I have made together throughout the years. Sometimes it’s hard to move homes because you would have to leave the place that holds all of your memories, but I’ve realized that moving is just another chance to make more memories and an even better home.
Thirdly, safety is a really big thing when it comes to the meaning of home. Well family and memories are important, safety is rather important too. Safety can mean many different things, for example, safety meaning feeling safe to cry, laugh and even feel mad and safety meaning feeling safe and sound in your home. Is it just me or whenever you think of feeling safe you think of sitting in between your mom and dad as safe as can be. Feeling safe in your home is feeling safe from harm and it’s a safe place to cry laugh and feel mad, but most importantly it’s a place where you can feel safe to be yourself.
In conclusion, I told you why safety, memories and family are important to my home. I’m not sure how I could call my home a home without any of these important things! I hope you know how fortunate you are too have a home and I want too ask you this, what makes your home a home?
