What Home Means To Me

My mom always told me growing up that being thankful is the best kindness out there. Every Thanksgiving we would hold hands and she would say, “I'm thankful for my children, the roof over our heads, the walls with the pictures that hold memories.” So I’m thankful for this and this is all. In church my mom would pray for everyone. She would say, “I pray for the sick, I Pray for the ones with no home.” “I pray for the ones that struggle with mental health.” “And I pray for my children, have them live long healthy lives.” That's why my mom makes a house feel like home. Growing up my dad has always looked out for me, he prepared me for anything, supported all of my dreams, he taught me how to be tough and never left my side. All I can say is he was being a dad. My Mom and my dad. Family is what makes home home. And that's what home means to me.
