What Home Means To Me
HOME is when me and my younger brother come home from a long day at school. We open the mudroom door and our dog Lenny comes zooming in and she smiles at us with her little white teeth. While wagging her tale with force and excitement to see us.
HOME is where memories are created, a place where we grow in many sorts of ways. One of these ways is the tall piece of wood in our basement that's painted in a shiny white paint. Ever since me and my younger brother were standing, which would be around the age of 2 years old, we were measured on this tall piece of wood. Every one of our birthdays we measure. It's always so sad looking at the very bottom of the piece of wood and seeing how little we were. It can also be where we share happy thoughts in the living room.
HOME can be coming home and smelling the delicious food on the kitchen table, like the tasty smell of spaghetti and meatballs.
HOME can also be a place where you have walls around you and a roof over your head. Some people don't have that so always be grateful for what you have, but thanks to Habitat for Humanity they provide a home for new people in calgary!
