A Wonderful Place to Love

Home is my cheerful place, my true friend that has always had my back. When I step into the house I catch a whiff of scrumptious meals cooking on the stove. The soft sizzle of onion welcomes my nose. My stomach grumbles loudly as I glance longingly at the oven. My parents make delicious delicacies and luscious treats. The buttery taste bubbles in my mouth as the sugar dances around on my tongue. The light is piercing as I walk leisurely into my room. My shoulders droop delicately and the knot in my stomach from school untwines. Here is a peaceful and welcoming space. This room is like a tight cocoon wrapping me into a majestic trance. A nightingale croons gently behind my window. I unlatched my window and let the nightingale sing sweetly as I daydream. I see the crystalline pond just beneath my window. The fresh smell of the willow trees calms me. The sun is a golden ball waiting to be played with. The incandescent light floats around like a bird on the loose. A figure dawns over me. My mother wraps me in a hug. Sometimes I think that my mom is a walking teddy bear. I feel embraced and loved when my family is around. I can feel a blanket covering my mum and I, cloaked to keep us warm. I step outside, I see the willow trees wisp in the wind. The crisp air feels refreshing on my body. I poke my toes into the glassy pond. I smell sweet lotus flowers blooming. Two koi fish swivel past my ankles and tickle my feet. As I lay on the grass, I look up at the ravishing blue sky. My dog trots over casually and licks my face, causing me to laugh. Everything feels perfect.
