No Other Place Like Home
Home is like no other place in the world. It’s where memories and connections to ourselves are made. Home is where I live and grow.
Home is where I can turn off all thoughts and sounds and be in a peaceful quiet place. It's where I can let my hair down and be me.
Home is where I hear the constant sounds of my dogs walking around, my mom listening to music, my dad cooking in the kitchen, and my brother singing in his room.
Home is where I can listen to music and let my thoughts drift into imagination. It’s where I rest and recover from sickness and my surgeries. It’s where I can spend time with my dogs and feel comforted and loved.
Home can be loud and chaotic when I’m with my older cousins and brother and it’s really nice with them, but I especially love it when it’s night, and I’m lying in bed in my own thoughts and the quiet.
It’s the only place I can take off the processors on my cochlear implants and be in complete silence. The silence makes me feel warm and calm.
How can one place be so vibrant and yet so peaceful? That’s why I think, there truly is no other place like home.
