A True Home
My house is my home
It is true and free
It feels safe and calm
It makes me feel happy
Home is unique
It isn’t just a house; you may see a plain building
But it’s where important memories are held
Where love is deeply treasured
It’s where I hear the slight clicks of my dad working on the computer
And smell the aroma of my mom's delicious pasta,
And see the true memories and meanings that go far past the walls
And enjoy feeling the warmth and love in both of my sister’s hugs
It’s a true home
To you, my home is nothing, simply a plain house
To me, my home is everything
It is a home to me, and a house to you
It's because a house is a building
And my home is more
It has an actual meaning, a worth
A place you care about
You may have your own home
But you also may not,
Thanks to Habitat for Humanity,
Those who may not, end up getting a house
And from there they can turn it into a home
A very true and only home
But only you can make it a home
And that home will be everything
