The Meaning of Home

What is the meaning of home? Home can have many different meanings. But, for everyone it is more than just the place you live like the dictionary says. It is the feeling, smell, taste, noise, and the people you make memories with. To me, the meaning of home can be found in my house, but it is not the house that makes these things and people special, it is all the memories that helped build up the strong bond. The people who make me feel at home the most are my family. My family includes my dad who is full of love and wisdom, my mom who is super creative and has awesome dance moves, my helpful brother, my forgiving sister, my other brother who always knows how to make me laugh and my best friend Maryam who is incredibly loyal and is the funniest person I know. If I had to choose what smells and taste like home, it would be the mouthwatering taste and aroma of Nigerian food. My whole family is Nigerian so of course we adore Nigerian food. When I am with the people who make me feel at home, I hear laughter and music. Me and my best friend love music. So far, I have only mentioned people and food who make me feel at home. But there are objects that make me feel at home, for example my giant teddy bear that my dad bought me, it is extremely fluffy and cute. Thank you, Habitat for Humanity.
