The Meaning of Home

Sitting beside the living room chair With a stack of books beside me Reading them all at once Draped in the blankets from the downstairs couch There for us when we watch movies Or have our family video game parties Smelling the newly baked banana bread Fresh from the oven Waiting to be eaten This is what home means to me. Playing piano Reading the notes carefully My family listening to my music My parents in the kitchen Cooking dinner and washing dishes Encouraging me as I play My sister sitting beside the living room chair With a stack of books beside her Reading them while hearing my songs This is what home means to me.
