Meaning of Home
Have you ever thought about your home and how did it become your home?
Well in my perspective there are a lot of things that can possibly make a house into a happy family’s home, but there is only one thing that can really make your house a home, and that’s your family.
Why? You see that's the thing, do you remember the times when you’d sit on the couch and make popcorn to watch movies with your family? When you always walked into the kitchen smelling your mom’s amazing hand made food and goods? Do you remember, and I am sure you do, the times when your dad would lift you in the air and make you smile at the end of the day? Most of that is the meaning of my home, when I would celebrate everyone’s birthday, all my favorite holidays and festivals with my family and way more I can’t even keep count!
Think, what would happen if you didn’t have a family? Well, obviously it wouldn't be a house because your family are the only people in your house that care, love and think about you everyday, make food, buy clothes, clean the house etc., but without them who would be there to do anything for you? You’d be alone and uncared for, starving and even sad because no one is there to support you or do anything to make you happy, so imagine what orphans go through for not having family nor a house, so I am awfully grateful to have my family’s presence in my house celebrating festivals making Indian and Nepalis food and trying on new dresses and sarees with my mom and sister while my dad makes new jokes and goes out with my brother to have fun.
And when me and my sister or my brother fought with me, I didn’t care because what matters most is that I am lucky to be loved by them, or even having a sibling to play with!
So why is a house a home because the walls protect you from the wind, and the roofs protect you from the rain? Yes, but there is way more that happens that can create a home, my family. Remember, your family is the most valuable thing throughout your house that creates a home.
