Home Is All My Heart

On bitter and inadequate days I will go to my home as I am safe I will smell the aromas of my mom’s cooking, I will be free, No longer at sea. When I am home I feel light as if I’m a feather floating at night. I will hold on to the light of my family's beaming laughter. Home is not the roof or walls, it is but the people I hold so deeply in my soul, Not all by blood, But all by heart, My family is home to me. Home is my dogs, Home is the taste of my mom’s chicken dinner, Home is my friends, Home is the sound of my dad’s drill, Home is my sister’s smile. When I think of home I see me and my family kayaking on a crystal smooth lake. I am so care free as I drift my hand through the cool emerald waters of the Arrow Lakes. Home is wherever my family goes, Home is everywhere.
