The True Meaning of Home
I have always thought that home meant a house, a place where you lived, but it turns out, home means more than that. Home isn’t just a place. It’s a feeling. Home is when you are at comfort, surrounded by loved ones, people that affect your everyday life. Being at home is a delightful, comforting, joyous feeling. Home can be playing with your friends, watching a movie with your family, or reading a book with your dog. Home is a place where you feel you can always let your guard down, no matter what. Many people think that home is a house, but that’s not exactly true. Home is something that money can't buy- it’s something far more precious than wealth and riches.
Whenever I go downtown, I see so many people living on the streets, and I’ve always wondered, have they ever felt the feeling of home? Maybe they have, but the looks on their faces always hold a sad, wistful look. It makes me feel sad, thinking of all the lonely days they’ve spent by themselves. That’s why if you have ever felt home, treasure it. Home is a very valuable thing. To me, home means a lot of different things- tug-of-war with my dog, playing Monopoly with my parents, or even just joking around with my best friends. To have a home is a very lucky thing. I wish I could give a cozy, warm home to all those who don't have one. Home isn’t just four walls and a roof. It’s about the people, and the memories you’ve shared with them. Always remember, if you have a home or have felt the feeling of home, that is a very lucky thing, and you should always treasure it.
