Meaning of Home

To me, home is the place you can cuddle with your family, a place you can get under the blankets in your bed and read your favourite book, a place you can watch your favourite show, where you can play your favourite game, a place where you can have movie and game night with your family, have dinner in your kitchen with your family, where you can listen to your favourite songs with whoever you want, and it’s a place you can bond with loved ones. Now think, some people don’t have a home, They don’t have a bed to get under the blankets of and read their favourite book, they don’t have a TV or electronics to watch their favourite show, have movie night or listen to their favourite songs, and they don’t have a kitchen to eat dinner in with their family. Sometimes people will walk by them and yell things like; “Get a job!” or, “Don’t be lazy, stop begging and work for your money!” The thing is, they can’t get a job because on their resume they need to put their address, but they don’t have a home because they can’t afford it, so how can they put their address on it and get a job? Habitat for humanity builds safe and affordable houses for the people who don’t have any. Habitat for humanity has successfully provided over 3,800 families with safe, affordable housing so far. I hope everyone out there in the world can experience living in a great home.
