Home is a Place

Home is a Place By Abeer Home is a place where I feel endless love and safety whenever I'm with my family. It’s the place where all my stuff is. Where I feel comfortable because I know where everything is and I'm used to it. Home is a place where I destroy my brother in every single sport probably because I’m older than him. It’s where I can play with my brother and sister. Where we fight, even though we love each other. Home is a place where I feel cozy whenever I need to feel cozy. It’s a place which holds my memories. Where I can call my cousin and I play games and I can have fun with her. Home is a place where I smell my mom’s delicious homemade chicken karahi and naan which I helped her cook, even though I'm only 10 but I'm still helpful. I can already taste it just by the smell. Home is a place where I watch crime shows with my dad and we try to figure out who did it. It is where I have parties with family friends and I have my friends come over too. Home is a place where I can be myself and won't get judged for it. It’s where I feel safe, warm, nice, and happy when my beautiful, loving family hugs me. Home is a place where my pillows hold my tears when they need to. Where I can come inside without knocking or ringing the doorbell. Home is a place where I can face my fears with the support of my family. If I fall down, the people that love me will pick me back up. Home is a place where I have a roof over my head and walls around me which some kids don't have. Behind my home, just over the fence, there are Habitat for Humanity homes. I go there to play because my friends live there. So thank you Habitat of Humanity for building homes for people who don’t have homes and for making my community a happy place to live.
