Home
A house is a blank canvas.
Waiting to be filled
With memories,
Painted stroke by stroke.
Home is a beautiful painting
No matter big or small.
Colours, emotions, joy.
The vibrant smells, tastes, sights
Where I feel the most welcome.
And the place where
Our happiness awakes.
Home, where the piano tinkles harmoniously
In melodic tunes.
As beautiful as
The chorus of crickets chirping
While the morning dew settles.
Warm sounds fill the room,
A ding-dong at the door.
Where we play ping pong together,
And laugh side by side.
Home, where the aromas of dinner cooking
Wafts to my nose
My sister baking cookies
The chocolate chips melting in my mouth,
And the flavours bursting with colours.
Vanilla, chocolate, gingerbread
Brightness. Joy. Laughter. Love.
Memories, feelings, the place where
Emotions are evoked.
Home is a safe, enveloping blanket
Like a warm bubble bath
That washes away the troubles.
Like the waves upon the soft sand of a beach.
Where I am loved and appreciated beyond
Anything else.
Here, my mind is put to ease
I feel the hazy clouds roll away
And the blushing sun arrives with pink and gold
Reigning in the sky once more.
Home is a delicate sewing pattern
Assembled with a needle and thread.
Where the moments come and the moments go.
But the memories stay forever.
Woven into our hearts.
Home is a place within my soul
That even words cannot
Fully express
Home is like a guiding star
Or a firework illuminating the night,
Like brightness in the dark.
Home is an radiant flower
Blooming in the snow
A small yet beautiful
sign of hope.
Help Habitat for Humanity
And help spread hope
Give those in need
A canvas to paint
A place to create memories.
