Chippy Finds a Perfect Home

In a forest at the edge of town, there was a chipmunk named Chippy. Chippy lived in a soda can. His dream was to live in a home that was safe, peaceful, dry and warm, good size, clean, and most of all, full of love. One morning, Chippy saw the TV on in the house next door. The TV said, “No matter what life throws at you, always follow your dreams.” Chippy decided to go out and search for the perfect home. He began at a home on 89th Street. He knocked, but no one answered. As he walked in, he stepped into a puddle of mud. He saw chainsaws and knives lying on the ground. There were creepy laughs and shadows in the air. There were stains, dirt and dust all over the place. Chippy decided to get some food. When he opened the fridge door, there were piles of mouldy food! This wasn’t his dream home because it was dirty and unsafe. The next house he arrived at was on 20th Street. He knocked, but no one answered. When he entered, there was super loud music playing and people yelling! Chippy thought, “No wonder they didn’t hear me knock! It is too loud!” Also, he felt cold water dripping on his head. Water was leaking from the ceiling! This wasn’t Chippy’s dream home because it was cold, wet, and not peaceful. Finally, he found a home on Chipmunk Avenue. He knocked, and a chipmunk answered. Chippy saw a bunch of chipmunks in there. This felt like Chippy’s dream home because it was safe, peaceful, dry and warm, good size, clean and most of all, full of love. They had a nut party to celebrate! Everyone deserves to live in a home like this!
