Home is Where I Belong
To me home is where my family is. Lebanon or Canada love still exists. Home is more than just a place, it’s a feeling of warmth and belonging. It’s where I can be myself surrounded by the people and things I love. Home is where I feel safe, secure, and supported. Home is where I create amazing memories with my family and friends sharing happiness and joy.
Home is where I laugh, cry, talk, and eat my mom’s delicious homemade food. Home is where sibling rivalry lives, without it it’s not considered my home. Home is where I took my first steps and said my first words. Home is when my mom wrote me a note about my first year of school and where my graduation pictures will be. Home is where a small dream of becoming a teacher started to grow, and I hope that in this home my dream will come true.
Home is where we celebrate Ramadan and Eid. Where me and my siblings eagerly await the call to prayer to break our fast. Home is where I learn the values of helping others and taking responsibility.
Home is wherever I go, and I always feel like that place is apart of me. And I always have a home to call my own. It’s my comfort knowing that when I come home there’s love awaiting me. Home taught me the importance of loving and giving back to my community. Thank you, habitat of Humanity, for giving families in our community this opportunity.
