A Home is a Family
A house has four walls
A roof and a door
A desk and some windows
A bed and a floor
A place to return to
From all that you face
But however lovely
It’s only a place
A home, however
Does not need a door
Not a desk or windows
A bed or a floor
A home goes beyond all these physical things
Home is the place that family brings
Home is in laughter from family and friends
Home is the love that we share, never ends
Home is together, and it will stay bright
Through hot days in summer or cold winter nights
With a cup of hot chocolate
And a friend on each side
This is home, it is love
Not a place to reside
I hope that someday
You will have a home
But know while you’re waiting
Wherever you roam
Wherever you are
And whatever you face
A home is a family
No matter the place
