A house that I call home by Mya Connolly

A house that I call home by Mya Connolly A house is made of beams and walls A home is made of dreams and trophies from playing ball On a shelf with photo frames You see it's not just a shelter for when it rains From basketball nets to garden gnomes This is the place I call home A house is made with a ceiling and floors A home is made with a dog who is not with us anymore He is always in our hearts along with Grandma’s homemade butter tarts A place where I never feel alone This is the place I call home A house will have a roof but A home will have your hard working proof Of the homework that you hate And a container of what once was old fish bait Using a hairbrush as a microphone This is the place I call home A house is a structure A home is a place with your families culture This place is different like no other Popcorn with melted warm butter A full bowl of cereal maybe Honey Combs This is the place I call home Now I hope you know How a house is different from a home It’s different for everyone though But everyone should have a house That they call home
