The Meaning of Home

For me, home is a place where I play with my dog, and I see my dad working on his laptop when I come back from school. I can smell the hockey gear in the garage, and the gloves smell the worst. Sometimes, when I enter the house, the aroma of meatloaf makes me drool. In the winter, when I go sledding, I come back to a nice warm cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows waiting for me. My house has witnessed several hockey pucks getting shot at the wall and rollerblading marks on the floor. I have library books piled by my bed waiting to be read before I sleep. Home is a place where frustration fades away, and comfort takes over. It is a place where we feel safe and secure, and we can be ourselves. To me, the true meaning of home is a place where we can create happy memories, and our loved ones surround us. The true meaning of home to me is a place to live with our families and pets and enjoy with friends. A place to build memories. A home is a place where you feel accepted.
