Home is Where the Heart Is

Home isn't just a building with walls and doors, Home isn’t just hardwood floors, There are many reasons why my home is different from yours. Home can be a person,Home could be a place but for me it's a feeling, A feeling not like a house with a ceiling, My home is a loud place with lots of Squealing. The sound of my brother on his xbox, Unpleasantly hearing his friends speaking, Home is a feeling everyones seeking, My parents footsteps on the hard wood creaking. The sound of the hot water boiling for my moms tea, Waiting for it with lots of glee. My loud screaming clock that wakes me up, Sipping morning orange juice out of my cup, -15 degrees trying not to freeze, The feeling of the cold winter breeze. Home is sledding at the school, Laughing so hard and looking like a fool. Home is playing with my friends on a warm summer day, Coming home seeing my cat's deadly prey, Sitting in a field on a windy day, watching the grass as it sways. Home is when my cat goes to sleep, Tucking her head in under her blanket so deep, Hearing her quiet little snore as she falls fast asleep. Putting up my fake christmas tree, filling my house withs lots of holiday glee, Deciding where my hockey stick ornament should be. Home is snuggling with blankets in bed, Thinking of all goodnights and love yous my parents have said, As my pillow squishes into my head. As you are finishing my lovely poem, you have learned all about my wonderful home.
