Home
A home is more than walls and a floor,
It’s so much more……
Home is when I go to my figure skating and feel the wind in my hair,
I jump and spin like there is no care.
Coming off the ice I get a fist bump,
Then he then starts talking about his first ski jump.
Canada is my home,
Where I walk and roam,
From the canadian geese flying in the air,
To the joyous laughter from the new hamburg fall fair.
When i’m home I feel a sense of trust,
this is a must.
It’s where you know someones got your back,
you can stay on track.
Playing a video game is always fun,
When you realize you have won,
But if my dad wins,
He grins, and claps a horrifying boom,
It shakes the room,
The sound shivers my bones,
Yet somehow, it makes me feel home.
When I go to camp, it’s my home away from home,
You can feel you and your cousin are in the zone.
From games like capture the flag,
To walking up the hill carrying my heavy beach bag.
It's a lot of fun, in the sun.
My home is filled with love,
From the joyous dinner conversations with the dim light above,
To the warm, safe cuddles and the singing as soft as a dove.
Home is where you can read a book and only hear me,
And the humming of the swishing washing machine,
My room is where I can stare at my sharp stingray teeth,
It’s where I can just breathe.
Home can be whatever you like,
It could be a cozy spot on a hike,
Or a ride on your bike,
But home to me is being with family and friends,
That love never ends.
