The Meaning of Home

Hi, my name is Sofia Brunetto and I am 11 years old in grade 5. In this writing piece, I will be talking about what the meaning of home means to me. For me, the meaning of home is not just a place, it's a feeling of calmness and where my heart feels at peace. In the summer, sometimes I can smell Florida, and this scent makes me feel like I am at home. When I am about to walk outside in Florida I can smell this familiar scent. The smell is like a mixture of sand and detergent, or sometimes it's the feeling of the beach and summer air. It's very comforting because it makes me feel calm and relaxed. Home is also a place where I feel comfortable and safe. When I am with my family, they make me feel at home. We can be anywhere in the world as long as I am with them. It makes me feel warm and comfortable. When my mom hugs me I really feel at home! I can't describe the feeling, but when she cuddles me, I feel comfortable, warm and relaxed. These are the things that make me feel like I am at home!
