My Home
Even if I don’t have my rock-solid couch, my home will always be my home because I share my home with the people I love, who also love me back.
M stands for the gloomy mornings when my auntie bursts into my room to wake me up on school days if I overslept.
Y is the yummy and delicious spring rolls my grandma makes. The dipping sauce melt into my mouth as I bite in the fresh, steaming spring rolls.
H is for the hot blazing summer days as I chug down a freezing cold-water bottle while my dog runs around the freshly cut grass.
O stands for the earlier owners who kept the house in excellent condition so my family can cook, eat, sleep, and thrive.
M is when music blasts through the house in the evening as the sunset shines through the window and my brother stands in the middle of the living room while singing his heart out.
E is for the energy and love put into the building process for a house and for the people who don’t have a proper home.
Thank you, Habitat for Humanity, for giving people an affordable home and a chance to have a better lifestyle.
