Home
I wake up on a relaxing Saturday morning and walk into the living room and see my Mom, Dad and brother and I love it.
As I step onto my backyard rink, I hear the tap, tap, tap as I stickhandle. CRACK when I turn and ping as the puck rockets off the post.
I stop in at my Grandma and Papa’s home after a day out. I talk about what I did that day as they prepare my scrumptious food that they made. Sometimes it’s a fresh sandwich that my Papa makes. Sometimes it’s leftovers from Sunday dinner.
I step back as my Dad puts the final ornament on the tree, the star. I take a big whiff of Christmas, ahh so beautiful.
“Why do I have to shower?” I complain to my Mom. But I hop in anyway. Why do I complain to go in here I think, it’s so peaceful.
Thank you, Habitat for Humanity, for giving people who don’t have a home a home. Imagine you didn’t have a home. At least you have people who will do something for you.
