What is home to me?

What is home to me? Home can mean lots of different things, this is my definition of home. To me home is not only the walls and roof I live under but it also means a lot of other things. One of the main things that come to mind is somewhere I feel happy and safe. When I feel at home I feel like I can be myself without feeling judged. Another very important thing is mainly family and friends. Family is what creates all of your best memories and friends are the people that make you laugh and feel good about yourself, friends are the people that encourage you to do things that you wouldn't normally do if they didn't encourage you to. Family is an important part of feeling at home, because family is the people you can trust and depend on. Family helps you through hard times and even if your house changes, your family always stays with you. Some people don't have walls and a roof they live under but they still have things to call a safe place where they feel comfort and happiness. To others home can be a stuffed animal they've had their whole life or a hobby that makes you get your mind off of things because you're so focused on it. To some, there is a scent that reminds them of something comforting, such as traditional foods they have with family or their favorite garden flower. I think an important aspect of home that may be missing for others is having a loving and caring family and somewhere safe that they know they can always come back to. I am grateful for being able to have a comfortable, safe place to rest and a home to create good memories.
