Home Is Safe

I will never forget home. Home is a place where my feelings come out and I can be honest. Home is a place where I can lay on my couch and look at my dogs in heaven knowing it was good they went. Then looking at my new dog wagging his tail and giving me the puppy eyes. Home is waking up with a cold heart and giving my mom a warm hug that also warms my heart. Home is a place where me and my grandfather celebrate our birthday together by sticking our thumbs in the cake when no one else does. Home is a place where I’m watching a show with my family on Christmas eve. When it's cold I’m home with my family with hot chocolate talking about our days when me and my brother aren't even listening. Laughing with my friends and family is home. It’s a place to go to bed at night and not worry. It feels like laying on a cloud when you first put the the cover over your body and warm hands fall on your back because your mom is always by your side. Home is a place where movies are watched and popcorn is eaten. Through the ups and the downs my family will always be there to lean into when you need someone to cry into and need love. I will never forget home.
