Meaning of home
I wake up to the sound of bacon sizzling on the frying pan, fresh sunshine, yellow eggs, and the buttery smell of waffles. I’m itching to get up but my gray puffball of a cat, Fluffy, is purring beside me with his turquoise eyes closed. I'm laying in my oversized Hello Kitty onesie and wrapped up in my fuzzy pink weighted blanket. I check my phone and notice all my friends messaging in our group chat. When I finally drag myself down the stairs I help my Mom carry the orange juice and icy cold water to the table and we all sit down to brunch. I bite down on the crunchy waffles smothered in maple syrup on my plate. I’ll help load the dishwasher then run up the stairs and head into my bedroom. I join my friends on a call and begin playing games on Roblox with them. After what feels like hours of playing with my friends and calling, I begin my nightly routine of brushing my teeth, Brushing my hair, and hopping onto my apartment building height mattress. As I lay in bed before drifting to sleep, I think about all the fun I had today. Home isn’t just a house, home is a safe place for me to feel happy, to be with my friends and family in a peaceful environment.
