Meaning Of Home

Home feels like a warm fluffy blanket waiting for me in my room after a long exhausting day at school. It smells like fresh gooey chocolate chip cookies that fill the house with joyful sweetness. The kitchen reminds me of reindeer pancakes with crispy bacon and fluffy whip cream on a cold, white Christmas morning. I hear the oven dinging and I know something delicious is being cooked. My family gathers around the table to enjoy homemade mac and cheese. I snuggle up in my toasty warm bed that feels like I'm sinking into a soft cloud. I wake up to the sun beaming through my window, birds cheerfully chirping, and the smell of breakfast on the table. The things that make home special to me are the people around me, my sister, my mom, and my dad. Without them, my home wouldn't feel the same, my life wouldn't be the same. I wouldn’t get to wake up on Christmas morning, hang out with them, and have a blast. We wouldn't get to go on road trips together. Without my family we wouldn't be able to have board game nights filled with President and Dutch Blitz. The person who makes my house feel the most like home, the person I spend most time with, is my sister. The person who plays with me and takes care of me when my parents aren't home. Seeing my sister brightens my day. Hanging out with her is so much fun even when we aren't doing much. My memories are filled with snow forts on cold snowy days and cozy hot chocolate. I am so thankful to be able to enjoy the feelings, the tastes, the smells, the sounds and the sights that make my house a home, a place that is special and personal to me.
