I Am Home

A home is filled with love, a house is filled with items. A house or a home You are never alone. Nice people are always laughing Especially while you fall out of your canoe while rafting. You’re raised and praised under your chosen roof You can always make accomplishments even when you are a goof. It’s a place where you can’t be judged Where the oven is warm, after you have whipped up some delicious chocolatey warm fudge. Where the sizzling fire gives you comfort Like family game night and you’re always outnumbered. It's a home not stone things can be broken But they can always be fixed with love when you have awoken. It’s when you drop some crumbs on the floor, there’ll be a mop To always clean your messes up. When the fridge is filled with those items, you can't resist It's the dining room talk when you spill the tea to your mom about the person you kissed. It’s the sunrise that peeks in your room in the morning The family bond that's always forming. The animal fur that's always in your face When you need time to calm down and go to your safe space The family movie nights that always give a good message When your parents always give you some words of courage It's a place to always have a lot of fun Even when the day is done Life can get tough And things can get rough There will always be bad days It may seem like a haze But through it all Always stand tall Giving up is not a word in my dictionary, and it shouldn't be in yours Habitat for humanity is doing its share for others, so you should also we should all help in one way or another, so do your part today.
