Meaning of Home

A house is a roof over my head and a home is filled with everything I love under that roof. Under my roof there is my brother, mom, dad and pets. Under that same roof there are memories from when I was little. One of my favourite memories was getting my dog. I was five and scared of dogs when I got Frankie. My fear of dogs didn’t last because Frankie and I played and cuddled a lot. However, she sadly passed away December,12, 2022. My family misses her so much. What is the difference between a house and a home? A house is just grey and boring, but a home is filled with colour, happiness and life. I am so lucky to have a home with furniture in that home. I am also lucky to have clean water and good food. I am thankful that I have a shower to wash in and a bed to sleep in. That is the difference between a house and a home. In my home I feel joy and warmth from my family, not just from blankets and the fireplace but from the love and laughter within. Also, I feel safe in my home. I feel safe because I am surrounded with my family. That is why I love my home.
