On a cold winter day

When I wake up in the morning with a roof over my head on a cold winter day, I think of all the things I am grateful for. Like all of my family and friends,my dogs and cats, my two brothers, my bed, and a house to live in. But the thing inside of my house, like my family, is what makes it my home. A house and a home are very different things, a house is a structure or something you would store something in, but a home is full of love and where you make memories ! So here are some things that I think of when I wake up in the morning with a roof over my head. I see… My dog by the fireplace soaking up the warmth of the fire on a cold winter day. I feel… the beans in my bean bag chair as I throw myself onto the floor on a cold winter day. I smell… The warm cinnamon buns in the oven and the warm candles that heat up my home on a cold winter day. I taste… The fresh apple pie that my grandparents made for me with all their love on a cold winter day. I hear… The sound of my kitten purring in my arms peacefully on a cold winter day. And those are some of the many grateful things I think of in the morning. Thank you Habitat for humanity for giving me the chance to change peoples lives even if it's on a cold winter day!
