Home Sweet Home
Home. The fresh smell of chocolate cookies straight from the oven. Hot chocolate tickles my taste buds as it goes down my throat. The hugs that surround me in warmth and love as I go to sleep.
Home is a place you should feel safe. A place where you should bundle in piles of blankets and feel shielded from detrimental feelings. Home is somewhere to be guarded from negative attitudes.
At home, I feel appreciated and cared for. At home, my family provides for my needs and helps guide me through tough times. My family supports me in school, to have a good education and a bright future ahead of me.
Home is smelling the aroma of my dad cooking his delicious tacos. The tender meat, the crisp tomatoes, lettuce, and my dads’ famous salsa. The mouth watering, savory guacamole on top and the crispy shell on the bottom.
Home is where my sister and I run around, chasing each other around the kitchen, teasing each other. Messing around and sharing thoughts. United in annoying our parents.
Home is a place of love, where we believe in each other and treat people equally. Family can be hard sometimes but I am taught to always be kind wherever you are. Hate and despise can crush your home and relationships. I hope my home never crashes. I know that my home will never crash.
Home is appreciating loved ones. My dad helps with my physical needs. My mom meets my mental needs and my sister entertains me.
Home is not just a building, or four walls and a roof, it's the feeling of love, care, happiness, safety, joy and confidence. Wherever you are, you are loved and that’s what home is to me.
