How Lucky We Are

When we walk in our homes, we don’t think of how lucky we are to have it. How lucky we are to make our favorite memories in a warm, structured environment. To have a warm, home cooked meal prepared for you at the dinner table. We are so lucky to have our homes. Some people think a home is like a house, four walls with a roof, but it is much more, it’s where you feel safety, comfort, and support. It’s where you take your first steps, where your treasured items and loved ones are.It’s where we have our worst, and best days. It has the bed where we cried out all our tears. There is much more that shows how lucky we are than we notice. The sound of your dog barking, cats meowing, and siblings fighting makes it hard to fall asleep, and harder when it’s not there. The sight of your room might be messy, but everything is where you want it. The smell of our home that we never noticed, but it’s weird without it. The food that tastes different in a different place. The feeling when you come back from a long vacation, and everything just feels peaceful, happy, and just how you like it, to prove how lucky you are.
