Your Home
By Alyssa Van
A home isn’t always a place
But, it will always, always leave a trace
Surviving in your heart, even during a flu
It will provide shelter when you’re feeling blue
A home is like a haven, where you share
Where family can laugh and instruments can blare
Where cinnamon scents, waft in the air
The home will always care
I love my home, with all of my heart
It gives me hope, when i’m not feeling smart
But I look outside, and see unlucky people and children
I want to help, so I ask my fellow schoolchildren
They tell me, it's never too late to volunteer
Or donate some items, the meaning is crystal clear
Doing these actions, helps the Mustard Seed
Giving help, to people in need
My home, doesn’t look very spacious
On the inside though, it’s pretty capacious
Packed with toothbrushes, soap, lotions more
toothpaste, creams and items galore
If you have a home, that looks like mine
Donate some of the items, don’t be shy
Remember, these go to a good cause
So before you judge, remember to pause
