Home is Where ...

When someone says the word “Home” it makes me think of my family, and I know that home is a safe place where I can be myself and I am loved. Home is also where my sister and I play Jenga and Monopoly together every Saturday night in our living room. It makes me think of my sister and I riding our matching blue four wheelers in our backyard and our very silly dog Charlie chasing us around. Home is where I walk out of my bedroom and glance over at my dog just to see him watching SpongeBob on the T.V. It is where every Saturday night my family and I sit beside the fireplace, drink hot chocolate and watch a movie. In the morning we always have bacon, eggs and toast together. Home is where my Nana and I bake cookies, fudge, caramel and doughnuts. It is where my Aunt, my cousin and I paint our nails and do our hair together. Home is where my family and I eat tacos every Tuesday at the dinner table. All of these things remind me of home. Everyone should have a nice, warm home to come home to at the end of the day no matter where it is or what it looks, smells, or even sounds like. The population of homeless people in Canada is getting higher and I hope that someday everyone will have a warm and safe place to call home.
