Home Is …
Home a place where you can feel safe, loved, cared for and comforted. A home is also a place in your heart and where you store and make forever lasting lifetime memories.
Home is where my family can feel safe like having good night’s sleep and ending the day feeling safe and sound. It is also a place where me and my family, my cousins and relatives celebrate Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, birthdays and also cultural traditions altogether.
What home looks like to me is it's just not a shelter, it’s a place where you can see younger photos of me and my family hanging in the hallway. In the living room you see a couch and a tv where we turn on a movie on some nights and get comfy on the couch for the rest of the time. Then the kitchen is where we cook delicious meals and after eating it together, not separate.
Home is where you hear kitchen faucets or the oven, when its your turn to wash dishes or cook delicious homemade cookies. It is also the sound of laughter when everyone gathers and plays games and talks. But the most important thing you hear is our family bonding.
Home is where you smell a scent of delicious food that my parents made and where you smell a nice scent of Febreze spray which is lavender. It's also a smell of two seasons, winter and fall because of the hot coco sitting on the table still not getting cold and the smell of thanksgiving dinner.
Home is the feeling of love in your heart where you can be safe, and it is also a feeling of comedy. The most important is the feeling of joy and humour, but it's always love and bonding.
Home to me is family because they take care of you even during hard storms, and after it’s over, they still stand up just to protect you. Thank you, Habitat for Humanity for trying to make the world a better place.
