Home, My Favorite Place to Be

A home and a house are not the same. Home is a place where you have lots of love everywhere. Home is a place that holds you together with love by your loved ones. Home is where my family and I make “once in a lifetime” memories. It is a place where sibling rivalry starts and gets resolved. It’s where, when I am sad and lonely, my furry companion will always cheer me up. Home is where you see my dad’s old belongings that tells fascinating stories about his amazing life. It is a place where you can see my mom’s delicious spring rolls and pho. It is a place where you see memories and master pieces. Home is the sound of my life of jokes coming from left and right. It is a place where you hear laughter and calm music. It is where you hear my dog barking and his squeaky toys. Home is the smell of delicious food flowing through the air. It’s the smell of fresh cut grass and of rosemary and the other flowers that my wonderful parents grow. These are the smells that will be always in my home. Home is the feeling of love and joy. It is when I come through the door and see smiling faces of happiness and where I feel safe and secure. It is when we are all together that I feel content. Home is a place in your heart. If you move place to place, home will be always with you no matter what. Thank you to Habitat for Humanity for giving this opportunity to children across Canada to help those in need.
