Home, To Me
To me, home is where I enjoy good times and relax.
It is a place where I can read, draw, and write without a worry in the world.
It is where I can prepare for tomorrow by completing homework,
having a warm bath and brushing my teeth.
To me, home is where I eat delicious dishes,
freshly made with care and love by my family, their marvelous taste
is the reason I almost always finish meals in a good mood
(except if there are mushrooms!)
To me, home is where I sleep and dream,
marvelous and thrilling adventures across the lands and galaxies of fantasy
of daring chases and intense quests while my eyelids are closed
and a soft smile on my lips in the dark.
To me, home is where I celebrate with family,
revelling in the wonder and magic of holidays that my parents
and grandparents celebrated when they were young.
Placing presents underneath the Christmas tree, hanging lanterns for Chinese New Year,
and lighting birthday candles are moments we enjoy.
To me, home is where I make memories
that I can look back on when my hair has turned gray,
whether it be a special occasion or just a good moment
that holds a place in my heart.
To me, home is where I seek advice
from parents, grandparents, and my younger brother,
participate in riveting discussions and laugh at corny jokes.
My family is always there for me when I am at home.
To me, home is where I feel safe,
where I feel protected and supported.
Home is a place of joy and learning, of love and relaxation.
It does so much for me and helps me incredibly.
I hope it does the same for you.
