The Meaning of Home

To me home is a place with loved ones and a place where you feel loved. The reason why it is not just a place with loved ones is because home doesn't have to be a place, it can be a feeling. For instance, when you move into a new house it might not feel exactly like home until you go make some friends or meet your neighbors. Once you meet new people you forget about being new yourself and this makes you feel at home. Home is a place where you feel safe to make new memories, a place that you will remember when you are sad. It will make you feel happy because you will remember all the great times you had there. That's what home is made for. Home reminds you that you are welcome and loved lots. Home is a place where I see my dog cuddled up beside the Christmas tree with twinkling light. I see my favorite ornament hanging. My favorite ornament being me and my family as snow men. I wonder what it would be like to be a snow man? Home is a place where I hear my dad turn the tv on to watch soccer. He tells me to watch how the professionals are passing in triangles or how they are keeping their shape. Home is a place where I feel my soft blankets on my bed that I get to sleep on every night. I feel the comfort of my bean bag chair while I read my favorite book. Home is a place where I taste the dinner that my parents have made for me and my brother. I taste the sweet sensation of the chocolate chip cookies that my cousins have dropped off. I can tell they have just been made. They tell me they are made with love. They did not have to tell me though, because I can tell by the taste. This is what home means to me. THE END
