The Fire of Home
Dove wings, in starless night;
Stretched out, in feeble flight;
See a quick, slight glimmer of light;
See a spark of hope ignite;
On a cold, dark night.
The fire in murky night;
Warms all who land;
It’s the place of peace, of love, of safety;
On a cold, dark night.
The fire is life, the fire is hope;
The fire is a light amid the dark;
And it shall not go out;
It is on home’s hearth.
It is home’s fire.
And it can warm a cold, dark night.
