What is a Home?
The meaning of home for me is, somewhere that you are accepted, loved, and cared for. But not everyone has a place like that. I am lucky and live in a small house with lots of character. I have lived in my house for 11 and a half years so my whole life I don't know what it feels like to move but most people say that they feel like they are leaving their memories behind. My home is like a circus, wild but fun. Which I am okay with. I always hear laughter and smell freshly baked goods. After a long hard day, my home always feels like a warm hug. My home is inviting, interesting, and loving
What would it feel like to not have a house? Only having a few belongings. Over 100 million people don't have a proper house. Those 100 million people live in alleyways and cardboard boxes. That sounds crazy to most people but for others, it's their life and what they call home. Among those 100 million people there are also kids like you and me. There are 8 billion people in the world and 100 million of those people don't have a house. Some people are on the edge of being homeless and living in a place that they can barely afford.
I want everyone to have a home, not just a house. Everyone can feel accepted and cared about. Everyone deserves a place to call home. Not just rich people, but those less fortunate deserve a home too. A house has four walls, and a roof, and a home has so much more.
