What Home Means to Me, by Maya Anderson

A home is a place where you feel safe and happy. My favourite aspects of my home are my boat, Royal VancouverYacht Club (RVYC), and my dinghy. I will be talking to you about them today. I love my boat because it is big enough to fit my family and my dog. I also love it because there are many places you can go. We do many fun activities on my boat. For example, we go tubing, swimming, and explore the Gulf Islands. I love going to RVYC because me and my cousins can play outside, sit on the old cannon and pretend it's a boat, play in the junior room and have our Christmas parties there. One of my favourite experiences there was a couple years ago. I like going on dinghy rides because they are small and when you go fast it is really windy. One time we were going to an abandoned house. Me, my mom, my dad, brother, and a couple of my friends had to take dinghies because the water was so shallow. I love my boat, Royal VancouverYacht Club (RVYC), and my dinghy because they make me feel excited and happy. I feel very lucky to have all of them in my life.
