Different Homes
For a mouse,
Home is a place where your babies grow up,
You bring them food,
And they eat it,
Until they're old enough to go out alone.
For a bird, or an owl,
Home is a place where you lay your eggs,
And where they'll be safe from predators.
For a lion,
Home is not a place,
The mothers keep their children in a bush,
Until they can come hunt with the rest of the pride.
For a human,
Home is a place you can come back to,
A place where you can be your true self,
Where you have warmth, and food,
That you share with the people you love,
A place where you take care of others,
Where caring never ends.
Home is a place for many things,
A place where you can grow up, and grow old,
Where you can hide your secrets,
Share your secrets,
And be safe.
